Green tip #13

Green tip for this week:

Two easy, peasy ways to go green this week

1. Are your 'rents always bugging you to turn the lights off after you leave a room? Well, as annoying as that may be, they might be on to something. Leaving a light on when no one is around is just plain waste and lighting counts for an average of 11% of most energy bills. Do the planet (and your folks) a favour and make a point of turning the light out behind you.

2. When you're finished checking up on everyone on MySpace or chatting away on IM, turn your computer off. The simple task of turning your machine off before you go to bed will save an average of $103 worth of electricity a year. Think about how much your ‘rents could buy you with the money they save!

Green benefits:

  • Reduces greenhouse gas emissions
  • Cuts back on global warming
  • Saves energy
