Fashion Fridays

Hi guys and welcome to Fashion Fridays with Jess P (aka ME!!!). If your one true love is fashion then this is the blog for you.

Each Friday I'll take you on a small journey through my week, showing you the ins and outs of my experiences in the world of fashion. I'll also be answering reader questions so be sure to send me any of your own fashion dilemmas! You can email me at dollymail@acpmagazines.com.au, just put "Fashion Fridays" in the subject line...

Week 15:

Happy Friday girls!

This week has been a SHOPPING week for me. Since all the sales are just about to wrap up, I thought I'd hit the shops for one last bargain hunt. Of course in true "Jess style" I ended up walking away with only one sale item (a plain grey tee) and all the rest was full price. But on the bright side, I did purchase things I'll be able to wear all year round.

In my shopping basket? Black jeans, a red cable-knit jumper, an asymmetrical skirt and a bomber vest (my FAVORITE of the lot!).

Many of you know that the bomber vest is the latest must-have, being worn by countless celebs and fashion forward individuals. In Australia one of my favourite local designers, Josh Goot, kicked it off but thankfully all the chain stores have now done the same which means we can all have a piece of this big trend for a fraction of the price. Music to my ears especially when I found one which fit me like a glove and looked like a million bucks!

But even though I knew I HAD to have it, I still asked myself three very important questions: "When will I wear it?", "Where will I wear it?" and "What would I wear it with?

This one was easy:
When? Everyday
Where? Everywhere
What? Everything

The perfect EEE which = "I need it in my life NOW."

So how to take this winter must-have all year round? It's such a great layering piece — here are just a few ideas.

1. Over a slouchy tee with denim cut-offs or jeans.
2. Over a knit when the days get cooler.
3. Over a party dress for an edgier look.
4. Or like me a denim jacket.

Yep, if you buy one thing this season — make this it. Check out with I'll be wearing mine with this week.

Reader question

Hi Jess P,
I'm wearing a tight-fitting dress to a wedding and was wondering what to wear under it? Hope you can help.
Rosalia

Hi Rosalia,
Thanks for your question. A selection of department stores such as Big W, Target, Myer and David Jones stock seamless undergarments which are great for tight fitting clothing because they eliminate any bulkiness and leave your outfit completely smooth. A lot of them come with built in bras which is great as well as a selection of sizes and colours. My biggest tip: Bring the dress with you so you can try it on over the top to make sure you've got the right colour and style. Hope that helps!

Till next Friday,

Love Jess P x
