How do I cover up zits?

Q: I have really oily skin, especially on my t-zone. So, I was wondering, how can I keep the oil under control and stop my skin from looking so shiny, especially during the day?

DOLLY: Firstly, it's important that you use water-based or oil-free products as much as possible. Opt for an oil free moisturiser and make sure you cleanse morning and night to remove the excess oil and dirt that your skin accumulates during the day.

When it comes to wearing foundation, ditch the heavy liquid and try a matte finish mousse or powder instead. Blotting paper is also a handy way to keep the shine under control, keep it in your bag and use it throughout the day to freshen up your look!

Q: Help! I have super sensitive skin and I get reactions from everything ... what should I be using!?

DOLLY: You definitely need to use products that are fragrance free and also don't have any colourings which can make your skin react. There are lots of great products that are made specifically for sensitive skin and should say so on the packaging so keep your eyes open for them. One brand that makes a great cleanser for sensitive skin types is Cetaphil. Check out the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser $6.50 (120 ml), it's perfect for sensitive skin and lots of models have told us they swear by it!

Q: I love wearing eyeliner, but I don't know how to apply it properly. My friends keep telling me that I'm wearing too much of it. Can you help me out?

DOLLY: Eyeliner is designed to open up your eyes by defining your lids. Start by gently lining the root of your top lashes with a brown or black pencil.

It is best to start from the outside of your eye and trace along your lash line. Then finish off by lightly lining the inside of your bottom lashes.

Hint: Apply lightly! Heavy eyeliner will only make your eyes look tiny and beady, so keep it subtle.

Q: My friends are all into wearing candy coloured lipsticks and glosses. I have really thin lips and I look ridiculous wearing bold colours. Can you suggest an alternative that would suit me better?

DOLLY: As a general rule, people with thin lips should stick to using natural looking lipsticks and glosses. Shades of pale pink and nude are great, simply because they make your lips look thicker and fuller.

To pump-up your pout, try lining your lips with a lip pencil that's a shade lighter than your natural lip colour. Then fill in the middle of your top lip - the part that is directly under your nose, with the same colour.

Finish of with a lick of nude gloss and ... Viola! You've got yourself super luscious lips, in no time!

Hint: The next time you're looking to treat your pout with a new gloss, look for a lip gloss that contains light reflecting properties.
