Budget beauty
Make-up dilemma
Q. I want to wear make-up, but if I do my family tease me. Is there any good (and cheap!) stuff out there that doesn't stand out?
A. The trick here is less is more. Nude make-up is in this season, so go for a clear or pale pink gloss on you lips, a hint of bronzer or blush on your cheeks and dark brown mascara on your lashes. (Check out your nearest chemist or department store for a price range that suits.)
Moisture on a budget
Q. I'm on a budget, so I can't afford an expensive moisturiser. I was wondering if using something cheap like Sorbolene would be effective and good for my skin? Please help.
A. Sorbolene would be okay if your skin is dry but not if it is oily. Sorbolene is one of the richest creams you can buy so it's better suited for your body. If you have oily skin, you should just get a cheap, oil-free moisturiser. Try Neutrogena, Ponds or Nivea in chemists. There is no need to get an expensive moisturiser. Products under $10 or $20 are just as effective. You're usually just paying for the packaging and the brand name when you pay anything more.
