Red carpet report: Prince Caspian premiere

Ever wondered what really happens at a movie premiere? Well, Sarah Reid (our NYDC red carpet reporter) is one of the lucky few that get to go to them for work (tough, we know). So, here's the lowdown from the latest red carpet event: the Australian premiere of The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.

2pm: The premiere was scheduled for 3.30pm at Sydney's State Theatre. So, an hour before the movie I chose my outfit — jeans, my fave "I heart New York" shirt, a leather jacket, scarf, patent black heels and a vintage black clutch. A sweep of blush and NIVEA lip gloss and I was ready to go!

2.45pm: The red carpet officially "opened". There's a fence and security guards on duty to make sure no eager fans sneak in without a ticket.

3pm: I walked down the red carpet with my date, who took a few snaps of me for NYDC. I got one picture beside the poster for the movie starring his royal hotness Ben Barnes as Prince Caspian. Along the carpet, there were loads of paparazzi waiting to photograph and interview stars and celebrity guests. I didn't see many celebs but I did bump into the Today Show host Karl Stefanovic and an old character from Xena: Warrior Princess. I scooted past them to take my seat inside.

3.30pm: Right on time, the lights dimmed and the film's director Andrew Adamson and producer Mark Johnson came on stage to talk about the film, and thank everyone for coming. Then two of the stars, William Moseley (Peter) and Ben Barnes (Caspian) also came onto the stage to say a few words.

3.40pm: The film begins. To give you a quick rundown: the four siblings (Peter, Edmund, Susan and Lucy) find themselves in Narnia again, this time to help Prince Caspain regain his throne and bring peace to Narnia once more. It's a looong movie, but there's plenty of action (and, errr, Ben) to keep you glued to the screen.

6pm: The film finishes and everyone claps. Outside, the red carpet has been taken away and another premiere bites the dust.
