Sixteen-year-old Emma Roberts may have a mega-famous aunty (
Pretty Woman's Julia Roberts) but this cute-as-pie starlet isn't riding any coat tales. You know her from the so-hot-right-now teen flick
Nancy Drew, but here are some things about her that you might not know …
Getting to know Emma
- She was born February 10, 1991 in Rhinebeck, New York, USA.
- She's 157cm tall and her middle name is Rose.
- She's got a super-famous family. Along with Aunty Jules, her dad, Eric Roberts, is an actor, appearing in shows including CSI: Miami and Law & Order, and her aunt, Lisa Roberts, has been in loads of flicks too.
- She decided she wanted to be an actress when she was five after hanging out on Julia Roberts' movie sets.
- She made her acting debut at a super-young nine years old in the movie, Blow, which co-starred Johnny Depp. However as the movie was R-rated, her mum said she couldn’t watch it until she was 18, so the director put together a tape of only her scenes so she could see them!
- She was meant to star in a film called Camp Couture which was to be produced by her mum, Kelly Cunningham, but it never went ahead.
- She's pals with Britney Spears' lil' sis, Jamie-Lynn.
- She's been starring in the US TV show Unfabulous for the last three years, in the lead role of Addie Singer, a schoolgirl who loves to write songs and play her guitar.
- She's also a singer: Emma released the album Unfabulous and More: Emma Roberts which features as the Unfabulous soundtrack.
- She contributed the song, If I Had My Way, to the Disney movie, Ice Princess.
- She became a spokesmodel for accessories label Dooney & Bourke and designed a handbag for them which was named after herself.
- She's been nominated six times for the Young Artist Award (and won it earlier this year), once for the Kids' Choice Award, and once for the Teen Choice Award.
- She left school in Year 8 to be home-schooled due her busy acting schedule.
- She's signed on to star in Wild Child, a movie about a rebellious Malibu princess who’s sent to a strict English boarding school.
