The trend: Grey cardies
Think they sound Nana-ish? Think again. Grey cardies are hotter than Avril Lavigne's 'Girlfriend'. The way to make them look cool is to team with skinny-leg jeans and heels, or over-the-top cute, fun dresses. If you want to emphasise your waist, throw on a belt; and if you want to take your look from street to chic, add a few long necklaces (try Diva or Equip for cash-friendly options).
The trend: Black tights
Yay! Your all-time favourite summer frock can now be your winter wardrobe's best friend. Why? Pull on some black tights and it’s suddenly cold-weather worthy. Team with your favourite shoes (and it doesn't matter if they’re open-toed or not) and you're ready to go. Oh, and for a slightly edgier look, try cropped tights - they look fab under denim minis. The trend: Cropped jackets
Mischa wears them and so does Rachel and Nicole. Cropped jackets have been on our radar for a while, and even though boys just don't understand ("Hey, has your jacket … shrunk?") wear 'em anyway. Just don't do a Britney and flash your tummy by wearing nothing underneath. Belly-showing ain't cool this season.
The trend: Anything mustard
We never thought we'd find that bizarre not-quite-yellow-not-quite-brown-and-not-quite-orange colour on the top of our Hit List, but look around and, yep, there it is. The trick to wearing mustard tones (without looking like a bag of Twisties) is to follow this rule: don't wear it head-to-toe. The trend: Round-toed shoes
Nothing says girly like a round-toed shoe and we were beyond chuffed to discover they were staying on winter's must-have fashion list. Whether flat and ballet-like (uber-practical), with a bit of a heal (super-sweet) or as a winter wedge (oh-so-trendy) we can't remember the last time we were this excited about what went on our feet.
