When it comes to break-outs, you're not alone. Heaps of celebs have them (Cameron and Jessica to name a few), but what they have that you don't is a professional make-up artist to cover them. Until now ...
We've stolen the best tips around, so you can easily disguise your blemishes.
Step 1: clean is the way to go
Before disguising a spot that's popped up, make sure your skin is clean. Do this by cleansing with a gentle cleanser, and gently patting your face dry. Try the NIVEA Visage Young Wash Off Cleansing Gel, followed by the NIVEA Visage Young Freshen Up Toner to leave your skin fresh and clean!
Step 2: reduced bumps ahead
You might want to try placing an ice cube wrapped in a cloth on raised pimples to reduce swelling. Or, hold a slice of raw potato over it. Some celebrity make-up artists swear by this (and, bizarrely, it works!).
Step 3: let the disguising begin
If wearing foundation, apply your concealer
after it. The best concealers to use on spots are thick formulas that you apply with a little brush. Match the shade to your skin
exactly (using a shade that's too light will highlight your blemish argh!), and the less you use, the better. To apply: wipe the excess off the brush and use light, feathered strokes. No brush? No worries. Press a cotton tip into the concealer, then press it onto the spot. You may need to blend a little, so do this with a clean finger as the heat from your hands will help it "melt" and settle into your skin.
Step 4: set it baby!
Now, for the most important part. Applying face powder (whether translucent or not) is sooooo important if you want your concealer to last all day (cos, hey, who wants their concealer to wear off after only an hour?). If you have a big, fluffy make-up brush, dust the powder over your face. But if you have a velour powder puff, that's even better. Lightly cover it in powder, rub it together so that the powder is contained within it, press it onto your skin, and voila you're done!
PS: The less you touch your skin, the longer your concealer will stay put.
