I passed an angel in the street,
Her eyes of blue and her golden locks neat.
She spoke to me with such charm and grace,
The words 'Hello' spilled her lips of lace.
But I did not know that behind her smile,
Was a tragedy ever so vile.
I knew this when I next saw she,
Nothing before was as it had seemed to be.
Through my window into hers I peered,
I saw her trickling crystal tears.
I saw her arm a bloody mess,
And the forceful marks beneath her dress.
Suddenly I realised that I had been blind,
For this angel of mine was broken inside.
Worlds apart
by Kitty2000, NSW
In a new town,
My life upside down,
You welcomed me in,
Without never a frown.
At a new school,
I felt like a fool,
You made me come play,
I was so uncool.
At tennis one day,
You happened to say,
'You're my best friend,
That's how it should stay'.
As I grew tall,
You did stay small,
Your heart was so big,
We never did fall.
But sadly to say,
I did move away,
My sprit was broke,
I wanted to stay.
Yet now here am I,
Thinking now why,
Wondering how,
Starting to cry.
We are worlds apart,
In spirit and heart,
Yet never a day,
Do I not say,
'You are my best friend,
That's how it will stay.'
