DOLLY sat down with Tomorrow, When the War Began hottie Lincoln Lewis, to find out everything about his new-found Hollywood stardom, his celebrity crush and his ultimate summer holiday destination.
Not too long ago you were the new kid in Summer Bay and now you're a big movie star. How does it feel?
It honestly feels so surreal. I guess it's one of those things that you feel like you've accomplished so much, but you're always looking forward to what's next. In the industry I'm in, there are so few jobs and there's so many people wanting the roles that you really can't rest for five seconds.
What's your usual red-carpet preparation?
The only red-carpet events I usually go to are movie premieres. Recently I went to the premiere of my own movie Tomorrow, When the War Began, which was pretty cool. I usually dress pretty casual — just a button-up shirt and some nice jeans and shoes. Sometimes I get to wear some nice suits given to me by Australian designers. But I usually only give myself about 15 minutes to get ready.
What's on the cards for the next few years for you?
At the moment I'm filming a new Australian movie called Bait. It's a shark movie, that's filmed completely in 3-D with an all Australian cast. I'm working with Xavier Samuel [Twilight], Sharny Vinson [Step Up 3-D] and Phoebe Tonkin [Tomorrow, When the World Began]. So we've got a really great Australian cast. I'm also about to start production for a new show called Slide. I'm also hopefully starring in a new small feature film next year as well as a few other shows.
Are you eyeing off Hollywood?
From day one when I've been asked what my goals are — I've always said I'm just happy to be employed. Like I said before, there are so few acting jobs in Australia and of course everyone wants to have a crack at a Hollywood film. I will do that at some point but I think my main goal right now is to stay here and help our Australian industry grow.
What are you up to this summer?
Summer is my favourite time of the year! I'm planning on going home to Queensland and spending the whole summer at the beach. My family has a holiday apartment on the coast, so I will be there all summer long.
What's your favourite quality in a girl?
Someone who is down-to-earth and carefree. Someone who's happy with life and who never needs a reason to smile or be happy. Those are the people that make you happy.
Any celebrities you're crushing on this summer?
Well my girlfriend is a bit of a celebrity, she's on Home and Away, so I guess she's my celebrity crush.
What's your ultimate summer holiday destination?
Somewhere that's not too touristy and that still has that beach-town feel. Somewhere that's chilled out, not too busy and as long as my family is there I'm happy.
What's on your iPod right now?
Chris Brown's new song 'Yeah 3X' and also Neyo and Brandy's song 'She's Right Here'. And 'Teenage Dream' by Katy Perry gets everyone going.
