Another fab cab off the rank for Sportsgirl’s designer collaborations range with Kate Hurst set to put out a special 10 piece capsule collection.
One of the best parts of the job here is finding new designers I get so excited seeing new talent and fresh ideas. One such talent is Darling Clementine.
To dull the boredom sometimes at home, I have be known to browse online not buying necessarily, but looking. It doesn’t cost anything to look you know!
Doc Marten’s are a total fashion icon they’ve always been a bit grunge, a bit rock ‘n’ roll and are making a big come back this season what with all the ’90s influence floating around fashion at the moment.
Ok, so going to Fashion Week isn’t quite as glam as in The Devil Wears Prada, but it’s not exactly dull either. Viewing the very latest summer collections (whilst we’re still layered up to beat the winter chill!) is definitely inspiring and this year a pretty fine show was put on indeed.
Lucky me got to trip down to Melbourne last weekend to shoot one very exciting DOLLY Cover (keep you’re eyes peeled for that!) as well as attend the DOLLY Show Off Fashion Parade which was part of the amazing L’oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival.
Mark March 14 on your shopping calendar ladies. The good guys at General Pants are holding a Denim Muster, and will be giving away 150 pairs of jeans in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
So looking good is always fun, but finding fashion that looks good AND has a social conscious is even better! Toms shoes have been around since 2006, and was founded in fact by a guy called Blak, not Tom – TOMS stands for Tomorrows Shoes. Anyhoo, whilst travelling through an Argentinean village he was struck by the poor conditions the children lived in and their lack of shoes. Hence TOMS Shoes was born – with the promise that for every pair of shoes purchased, a pair would be donated to a child in need.
Sportsgirl keeps lifting the bar of late! What with their too cute collection of 70s inspired style in-store now, and their just released line-up of great Aussie designer capsule collections they really are on the ball. Check out the great names coming to a Sportsgirl near you in 2008:

February: Damselfy

February: Michelle Robinson

May: Bahamonde Leather
Ok, another recent addiction of mine is Online shopping – actually, scrap that. I’m not necessarily even buying anything – just looking and browsing, seeing things I love and noting the labels that are doing cool things. It’s like the best version of window shopping with no nosey shop assistants to annoy you! Anyhoo, one site that sits high on my on-line fashion-fix rotation list is Seewantbuy.com. It has all those little, cool, not so exy I-have -to-re-mortgage-my-house (if I had a mortgage) labels that are sometimes hard to track down. Stocking clothing and accessories from Ladakh, Cooper St, Bardot and Wish, Seewantbuy.com also delivers to nation-wide to Australia and New Zealand. Bonus! Here are a few pieces that have made their way to my shopping cart recently……

Purple Cami: Ladakh, Grey Skirt: Ladakh

Chambray denim dress: Cooper St

Panelled top: Cooper St, high waisted shorts: Ladakh

Yellow printed dress: Ladakh
