Pete Wentz

To us, he's the hottie from Fall Out Boy and Mr Ashlee Simpson, but there's a lot more to Pete Wentz than meets the eye. As well as being a top bass player (as we all know), Pete is a lyricist, author, designer and owns his own film production company and record company.

Pete was born Peter Lewis Kingston Wentz III and grew up in the Chicago hardcore punk scene. He was in several bands before joining Fall Out Boy, including Firstborn; Arma Angelus; 7 Angels of the Apocalypse / Culture of Violence; Extinction; Forever Ended Today; and Yellow Road Priest. But he didn't score musical acclaim until he became the bassist and lyricist for Fall Out Boy.

A talented writer, Pete has also penned a book entitled The Boy With the Thorn in His Side, which was based on nightmares he had as a child. His company, Clandestine Industries, distributes books and clothing. Adding to his empire, Pete also owns a record label called Decaydance Records and a film company, Bartskull Films.

While we love him mostly for his style, musical talents and the way he looks pinned up on our wall, we also love Pete the romantic. He and fiancée Ashlee Simpson are one of the most loved-up couples in Hollywood and have just announced their engagement.

• He was an all-state soccer player.
• As well as the bass guitar, Pete also plays the piano.
