It turns out that fairytales really do come true: All you need is a little bit of wit, charm and a video camera.
High school student Jake Davidson (Los Angeles) managed to allure model Kate Upton into agreeing to come to his prom, after making a YouTube video titled "Kate Upton, Will You Go to Prom with Me?"
In the two-minute video, Davidson outlines all the best reasons why the Sports Illustrated cover girl should consider him as a potential prom date:
"I'm Jewish, 5'9" on a really good day - and I can't dance. At all," he jokes.
"You're Christian, 5'10", and that Cat Daddy video should have won an Oscar for best short film. You could say this is destiny."
Davidson was then shocked with a surprise phone call from Upton on the US Today show overnight.
Trying to contain his disbelief, the 17-year-old launched into charm-mode and convinced Upton of the great time they'd have together.
"This just got so much better now that you're on the phone. I'm telling you it will be a great night, great evening – I could even get the curfew extended hopefully by my parents maybe," he teased.
"I hope you'd be interested if your schedule is free, and what time should I pick you up if you are interested?"
And it sounds like she is…
"I definitely have to check schedules, but you seem like so much fun and if everything works out, I'd love to go with you," the model said, adding: "I absolutely love the video, it was so hilarious and so creative. Thank you so much for doing that, I really appreciate it."
We can't think of anything cuter.
