She may have made millions from songs about heartbreak, but Taylor Swift is embarrassed that her love life has become a joke.
The 23-year-old 'I Knew You Were Trouble' singer — who has dated the likes of Jake Gyllenhaal, John Mayer and, most recently, One Direction's Harry Styles — has become more famous for her love life than for her music, with the star's failed relationships continually mocked.
"At first, Taylor just thought it was funny how much interest people had in her life and went along with it," an insider told RadarOnline.com. "But now she's the butt of jokes on Saturday Night Live, in the tabloids and on the late night shows.
"The jokes being made about her love life embarrass her, but it's finally hit home with Taylor."
The country singer, who has also dated Conor Kennedy, Taylor Lautner and Joe Jonas, is also beginning to regret being so open about her past romances, and "really wants to make an effort to slow down and not jump from boyfriend to boyfriend.
"In a weird way all the negative press has really opened her eyes and will be good for her."
