Robert Pattinson has laughed off rumours of a marriage proposal to Kristen Stewart, saying that the tabloid stories made him "look like an idiot."
"I read in a magazine that I was getting married to Kristen," the Twilight actor said in a recent interview with Tu magazine.
"They explained how I had proposed marriage. Apparently I took [Kristen] to a beach and we were both in flowing robes and I played a song on my guitar."
After learning of the rumoured engagement, Rob reportedly asked Kristen whether or not she would like such a proposal. Her response? A flat out 'no'.
"It's shameful, not only because they invented something but because it also made me look like the biggest idiot in the world," he laughed.
"Why can they not invent that I proposed in a spaceship or something more fun?"
The actor went on to reveal that Kristen had kept the wedding ring used in her on-screen nuptials to Rob, holding onto it as a special 'Breaking Dawn' memento.
"Kristen kept the wedding ring, but no one gave me anything," he said. "My ring is sure going to end in one of those Planet Hollywood restaurants.
"Maybe [you can] already buy it on eBay (laughs)."
