Selena Gomez splits from her band The Scene

Monday, February 13, 2012

Selena Gomez has just announced that she has split from her band of three years The Scene.

The 19-year-old starlet announced the devastating news on Instagram, posting a picture with her band and writing: "Currently bawling my eyes out."

"I can't express enough how grateful I am for this group," she wrote. "They have been with me since day one and I can't believe it's actually over.

"I love you The Scene."

Selena also took to her Facebook page to clear up what had happened after her fans questioned the split.

"Just to clear up my last Instagram post, my band and I are going our separate ways for a while. This year is all about films and acting and I want my band to play music wherever with whoever. We will be back but, it will be a good while. I love them and I love you guys."

The band, who have released three albums together over three years, had just wrapped their South American tour.

"This tour has been amazing," Selena wrote on Facebook. "Thank you all for the love and support you have shown me. Today is the last show but… I will be back."

While her music might be taking a break for a while, Selena is keeping busy with upcoming roles in Hotel Transylvania, Aftershock and Spring Breakers.
