Twilight star banned from The Hunger Games

Thursday, February 9, 2012

Actor Kellan Lutz, who plays Emmett Cullen in The Twilight Saga, has revealed that he was banned from auditioning for The Hunger Games.

While attending Audi's Super Bowl party over the weekend, the 26-year-old actor admitted that he loved the Hunger Games script and really wanted to audition, but was snubbed because of his role in Twilight.

Not cool, people! Not cool!

WIN! Tickets for you & 20 friends to a private screening of The Hunger Games.

The boss peeps over at Lionsgate/Summit Entertainment reportedly banned any "crossover" between the two franchises — including their cast. What a bummer!

While we agree that the two movie franchises should be kept separate, we do reckon Kellan would have been perfect to play Finnick or Cato.

Agreed?

I can TOTALLY see Kellan Lutz portraying Cato!! Although I am glad that he wasn't cast due to it being the same type of character he was in Twilight- big, burly, rough & tough! I'd like to see Kellan be cast in a different role- I'm totally a fan hehehee. Finnick is more of a pretty boy.. and I think Kellan gives off the bad boy vibe, not a pretty boy vibe. BRING ON THE HUNGER GAMES!
No. There is no way this could EVER happen. They are completley different and should not crossover. I have been reading the hunger games since the first one was published so I have gotten to see them grow in popularity and reputation. Twilight and THG are totally different, I'll give you that Twilight was good (the books.. the movies sucked) but THG was so original and fresh and they needed a cast who was ne win the public eye so no old opinions were brought to the movie. I am glad they didn't let him try out. Plus he would suit NO ONE in the books. He's an Emmett, definatley not Cato or a Finnick (LOVE).
Can we just agree to STOP calling Hunger Games "Twilight." I get that they're both popular and for the same audience but seriously...other then the love triangle (which WAS NOT original to Twilight) there is nothing similar between them. Katniss is considered one of the most important young adult characters even written about (voted by Time or Rolling Stones, I forget) , teaching us how to be strong and that you have to be independent even if you have a nice guy, whilst Bella...teaches us that we can't survive without a boyfriend (who sparkles.) Cool story, needs more morals. Nah, Kellan needs to stick to his vampires.
i completely agree with Sarah. truthfully i dont think i would like him in the franchise anyway, because ill forever see him as emmett. Plus i dont see him as Cato or Finnick at all. sorry Dolly, you got it wrong this time.
I think we should keep the franchises separate. There is no room for exceptions. He chose Twilight and he needs to stick with it. As for playing Finnick, Finnick has bronze hair and a different build than Kellan. Cato has already been cast, and I honestly don't see him as Cato.
