Miley Cyrus 'attacked' by Aussie fan

Monday, June 27, 2011

Miley Cyrus was left in shock over the weekend after an Aussie fan stormed the stage during her concert in Melbourne on Friday night.

While performing her hit song 'The Climb', 16-year-old Jessica Hetherington snuck onto the stage and tried to hug her, PopEater reported.

Miley's personal security guard quickly rushed to her side and pushed the fan back into the crowd.

"Oh my God," a shocked Miley said into her microphone while she was escorted off stage.

After video footage of the escapade went viral over the weekend, the fan's older sister, Casey, spoke out in an interview with Ballarat's Courier, saying that she was proud of her sister for "having the guts" to give Miley a hug.

"When Jess was little, as soon as she started liking Miley she said she would give her a hug when she met her," Casey revealed. "So I say good on her. I'm sure there are plenty of other girls who want to hug Miley but don't have the guts."

Would you high five Jessica or do you think she went too far?

I guess, if a random person started running for Miley, they might've thought maybe she had a knife or something. And the guard pulled that girl off her while in mid-hug so Miley got pulled a bit but other than that, nothing happened so I don't see the need in rushing her off-stage. I think they go over-board with protection of celebrities these days and they treat her like a little Princess.
lol, that security guard freaked out, didnt know performers were so paranoid. People should feel free to interact with performers as long as it doesnt stop the performance, you see it at metal shows all the time and most of em like it when people get up on stage and mosh or crowd surf. Running her off stage asif she was some important person in the middle of an assaniation attempt is just rediculous. I would barely call it a hug anyway
I believe that it was wrong for the fan to try to hug Miley. Two reasons, she obviously lacks respect for Miley because her own wanting of a hug drove her to interrupt Miley while she was performing and realistically Miley was "working" doing her job and secondly it was rude of her to disrupt a concert that thousands of people have paid money for and are there to watch and enjoy. Regardless of who the star is or what not, ecah and everyone deserve respect and to not be manhandled by strangers.
I was there when it happened, with my friend and it looked like Miley had her head down and we thought it was a dance running over to make sure evrything was okay, but then the security guard came and made Miley more shocked then she already was, but i dont know, maybe its wrong, maybe its not.
