Meet Renesmee Cullen

Monday, January 24, 2011

First we got a sneak peek of that scene between Edward and Bella from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn and now we've got a further insight into the casting choice of the couple's half-human half-vampire love child!

Renesmee Cullen, played by 10-year-old actress Mackenzie Foy, is Edward and Bella's daughter who we finally get to meet in the final instalment of the Twilight series!

She may seem cute-as-a-button but for those of you who haven't read the book (shame on you), this girl will cause some serious drama in the upcoming, two-part film.

Warning: Spoilers ahead!

The Volturi find out about Renesmee's birth and believe she is an immortal child, a human child who has been turned by a vampire.

Immortal children are not permitted to live and the Volturi becomes intent on killing both Renesmee and her family.

It is up to Bella and the Cullens to prove to the Volturi that in fact Renesmee is one of the few children to be conceived by a vampire which also means the girl's got some serious powers!

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn producer Wyck Godfrey, said of Mackenzie “We have found in Mackenzie all of the qualities we were looking for in an actress to fill the role of Renesmee." He told Variety magazine, "She is a very talented young actress who emerged head and shoulders above all who auditioned for the part, and we can’t wait to see what she brings to her role.”

What do you think of Renesmee?

Why is it ' a shame' if one hasn't read the Twilight series, I dont want to be mean, but does it matter?
In the book, Renesmee is yes, very young, but she ages quickly for those of you who are saying she's "too old". She's not. The actress needs to have a certain amount of intelligence to be able to play the part. No four year old could try to play this part. Mackenzie Foy is perfect for the part. And for the record, this is not what Renesmee look like.
aww she's cute but her hair needs to be curly like in the book
I think that being ten is a good age for Renesmee because finding an actor who would be able to play the part 'decent' couldn't be around the actul age Renesmee is.
I think Mckenzie Foy is a beautiful girl!! With all the props, make-up, camera angles etc they'll also be able to make her look younger.
If you've read the book, technically Renesmee isn't the first child conceived by a vampire-human couple.
This is a photo of Mackenzie Foy, yes but not a photo of Renesmee. Mackenzie is also a model and this is a picture from one of her photoshoots for Garnet Hill (designer). Just to clarrify. Summit Entertainment doesn't plan to release an official picture of Renesmee any time soon to build up suspense.
i could die a happy person right now SO EXCITED FOR TWILIGHT BREAKING DAWN PART 1 (= eeeeeeee
This Renesmee is way too old! The daughter in the book would be no more than 4yrs old....
shes okaii but really?
