There's something about Kristen Stewart that's just so cool. She's seems different to the rest of the Hollywood teen girl tribe, but we can't quite put our finger on what it is. DOLLY decided to investigate. Check out what we discovered upon closer inspection of the chick that scored a leading role in one of 2008's most anticipated films, Twilight.

Kristen grew up in Los Angeles, California, where she still lives with her family. She was born into showbiz; her father is a TV producer who works for FOX television, her mother is a screenwriter and her grandfather was a director. Her acting career began at the early age of eight, where she had a short part in the Disney Channel TV production The Thirteenth Year.

Over the past decade she has appeared in loads of great movies. She played: the diabetic daughter of Jodie Foster's character in the major Hollywood film Panic Room; a traumatised high school freshman in the hit movie Speak; an angst-ridden teenager in In the Land of Women with Meg Ryan and The OC star Adam Brody; and a teenage singer in Sean Penn's Into the Wild.

Last year she was chosen to star as Bella in Twilight, the box-office hit based on Stephenie Meyer's best-selling vampire/human romance novel. If you weren't already jealous of the 18-year-old star there's more! In the film she stars alongside Robert Pattinson, who plays Edward Cullen, her character's vampire boyfriend. Robert's developing a reputation as quite the funny man (the proof's right here), and it sounds like Robert and Kristen had a lot of fun on the Twilight set.

"He tried to pick me up ... and he pulled his groin," Kristen told People. "It was hilarious! He was hurt, but he was laughing."

The two are very compatible on screen, with Robert telling Teen Vogue, "When I met Kristen, there was instant chemistry. She brought something out of me that I can't even explain."

Kristen didn't get into acting for the glamour of Hollywood, and says she would prefer to do films she really loves rather than big blockbuster money makers. "Though we were warned, I figured it would be a pretty exclusive fan base. I thought we were making a cult movie; I had no idea it was going to be this, like, phenomenon," she told Teen Vogue.

Now that Kristen's been thrown into the spotlight, she says she suddenly has to put a lot of time and thought into her appearance. "It's such a bizarre thing, to me, to consider that what I wear, what I do with my hair, affects my career. I'm not the type of person who has a million things in my closet." We love that Kristen isn't so concerned about her appearance; she seems like a real actor!
