There's a new queen of mean around the Gossip Girl traps in season two. Wanna know who she is? Georgina Sparks, played by Michelle Trachtenberg, the meddling troublemaker we will all love to hate.

We're predicting big things for this young starlet, who is best known for playing Dawn Summers on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Michelle made her TV debut at the age of three when she appeared in a commercial for Whisk detergent. She must have done something right for detergent sales, because the child actress went on to feature in more than 100 commercials. But it wasn't until 1996 that Michelle broke onto the big screen with the lead role in Harriet the Spy. She followed up this kid's flick with another in 1999's Inspector Gadget.

A year later, Michelle landed the role that would really put her on the acting map. Following a recommendation by Sarah Michelle Gellar (who she worked with on the show All My Children) Michelle was cast as Dawn Summers in the hit TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

After Buffy finished up, Michelle guest starred on a few TV shows including Law & Order: Criminal Intent and House but it wasn't until she landed the ultimate guest appearance as bitchy Georgina Sparks on Gossip Girl that we started to take notice of this talented young actress again.

We have a feeling Michelle will be sticking around for a while now. Not only can you look out for her in the flick Kids in America, but she also got to hang out with Zac Efron in the upcoming movie 17 Again.

• Michelle's hobbies include swimming, ice-skating, tennis, gardening and writing poems. "I love gardening. I think it's very therapeutic when you're having a bad day," she has said.
• She is fluent in Russian.
• Her dream job would be: "A fashion editor at Vogue, that would be awesome."
• Michelle helped former US president Bill Clinton launch a Partnership for a Drug-Free America ad campaign.
• She made a cameo appearance in Fall Out Boy's music video for 'This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race' with her Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star Seth Green.
