Ever since the Gossip Girl phenomenon exploded, all we've heard about is its stylish star Blake Lively. But what about Leighton Meester, the brunette beauty who plays mega bitch Blair Waldorf? This week, we're paying homage to Leighton, her talent, classic style and beauty.
Leighton Marissa Claire Meester first caught the acting bug when she starred in a local production of The Wizard of Oz. Sensing a career move was needed, Leighton's parents moved her to New York when she was just 11. Here she started working as a model and even worked with photographer-turned-director Sofia Coppola.
Leighton scored her first acting role in 1999 when she was just 13 on the legal drama Law & Order. She must have impressed someone because from there she booked several other guest parts on shows such as CSI: Miami, 24, House and Entourage.
But it wasn't until she landed the role of Blair Waldorf on the crazy-popular series Gossip Girl that the world stood up and took notice. Don't expect Leighton to disappear any time soon. Look out for her in the up-coming flick Remember the Daze.
