Teen Superstar Miley Cyrus, aka Hannah Montana, was born Destiny Hope Cyrus in a little country town in Tennessee. Her last name sounds familiar doesn't it? Well, that's because she shares it with her famous father, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus (you know, the guy who sang that song "Achy Breaky Heart"). But this young talent didn't need to ride on the coat tails of her father's success to be noticed in Hollywood.
When she was 11, Miley started auditioning for a role in the Disney show Hannah Montana. She originally tried out for the part of Lilly Truscott, but her star qulaity shone through and she landed the lead as Hannah Montana. America fell in love with this singing, acting superstar and soon the rest of the world followed suit.
