Dear DOLLY DR, I'm 14 and I have lots of red long lines around my breasts. In an area the size of a 50 cent coin, I'm also covered with lots of red dots very close together. What should I do to get rid of it all?
Edi.
The red lines sound like stretch marks, which are common during puberty on the breasts, thighs and bottom, where skin is stretched as your body develops its lovely curves. Stretchmarks are related to skin type and genetics. Some women get them with minimal stretching and some never get them even if the skin stretches heaps (like during pregnancy). For this reason, there's nothing one can do to get rid of them, but you can help by looking after your skin keeping
it moisturised with Aloe Vera or Vitamin E creams and avoiding sunburn.
Stretchmarks all fade with time and can become almost invisible. The red dots are a little more mysterious it depends where they are. If they're on the breast, they could be hair follicles or little glands. If they're on the areola (the pink or dark circle around the nipple) they could be the moisturising glands that keep this part of the breast soft. If the dots are also itchy or painful then there could be a skin condition which you might want to get checked out.
