Be Loyal.
The guy who just broke up with your friend has asked you out. You think he’s totally hot, but do you say yes? Think about the bond you and your best friend have and how that would make her feel. Things like that are sometimes hard to do, but if you want a solid friendship you have to be loyal.
Listen.
Nobody likes a best friend who just talks and talks about themselves, but never listens. If they ask for advice, listen carefully and give them the best advice you can.
Be trustworthy.
If your best friend tells you a secret, keep it. Don't even leak it out to someone you think you can trust. A secret is a secret.
Stick up for them.
If a girl in your group is bitching about your bestie, would you join in? True friends stick up for each-other and don’t play nasty games. If the other girls in the group don’t respect you for sticking up for her, they’re not worth your time.
Spend time together.
Do you dump your best friend if you get a better offer? Good friends spend time together at school and on the weekends. Why not plan some fun activities with your best friend like, go to the beach on a hot day or go on a shopping spree. Even just dagging around in your PJs is fun when you’re besties!
Be yourself.
Be yourself and do not act fake. Being yourself around someone is part of what makes you guys best friends.
Don’t be jealous.
She may want to spend time with other friends or possibly a boyfriend. If they have to cancel plans with you, try not to stress. Make other plans for another time when you know they will be able to.
Laugh together.
Having someone who gets all your jokes is one of the best things about having a best friend. Try renting some funny movies to give you a few more one-liners to make each other giggle.
Bury the hatchet.
If you and your friend have a massive fight, be the bigger person and try to make up. You won’t regret the friends you keep, just the ones you lose.
Stand up for yourself.
It’s great to look out for everyone else’s feelings, but it’s not OK to let people walk over you. Sometimes you’ve got to get off that fence and stand up for yourself!
