We get our chin-wag on with Pete Wentz...

Three words raced through my mind when I was asked if I wanted to interview Pete Wentz – OH MY GOD!

Not only is he married to one of Hollywood’s coolest chicks and a member of a mega-famous band … but he’s also one seriously hot tamale.

After four separate calls and emails from his management warning that I was NOT to ask about Ashley or Bronx, their gorgeous 11-month-old son, I quickly pulled on my investigative journalist hat and trawled the net, looking for clues about interesting topics I might actually be allowed to ask about!

Shouldn’t have worried – Pete was more than accommodating and he was the one who kept bringing them up.

The interview began with him saying he wished DOLLY was available in the States and wishing he had a subscription! Then we launched into a broad discussion about his life as a member of one of the biggest bands in the world.

His romantic side was evident when he named Ashley as one of the greatest people in the world and get this – his favourite line to say to Ash is French for “You’re beautiful my little cabbage”. Awww! (Unfortunately I was very half-hearted in my high school French studies, much to my disappointment now, so I didn’t catch exactly what he said, but thankfully he translated it … if anyone reading this knows how to say it in French, feel free to post so we can use it ourselves!

After all the talk of a band break-up online, I was desperate to know if FOB is coming to an end. Pete was pretty vague, because, as he said, he has no idea what the future will hold. But he did say this:

“We’re taking a break. We’ve been grinding for seven years and everyone is going to decompress and go off. If we do come back, it’ll be for the right reasons; it’ll be for fun.”

Petey and I chatted for yonks, I wish I could tell you more, but I do have to save some for the February issue of the mag…y’all will just have to wait!
