Fancy a bit of rockstar style fun on Friday?

As DOLLY’s new intern, I bet you would all imagine me to be so obsessed with the girly things in life, but to tell you the truth, I am a sucker for a good video game.

So you can imagine how syked I was for the release of Guitar Hero 5! Thrashing around the lounge room with my housemates, doing jumps off the coffee table and rolling around on the floor like a rock star is definitely one of my favourite pastimes!

I was even more excited though, when I heard Wolfmother are playing live FOR free at Take 40 Live in Sydney on Friday in support of the latest Guitar Hero instalment. Yep, you read me right, FREE! There is only one thing better than a good video game, and that is FREE stuff.

Ever since Wolfmother burst into the scene a few years ago I was obsessed with their debut CD (even more obsessed than I was with Robert Pattinson when Twilight first came out. THAT’S how obsessed I was.) My friends always would look in my direction when the very mention of this awesome Aussie band was made.

Now, with their new album, Cosmic Egg, due to hit stores in a few weeks, I’m pretty darn eager to head on down to Moore Park and see the boys rock out. Seeing them perform on Rove made me that little bit more excited!

And have you seen the band lately? I mean, a year ago there were three of them, now there are four and three of them are new members! Line-up change, much? I haven’t heard any other song except for New Moon Rising (which also makes me excited for the new Twilight movie…) so I’m curious to hear if they have changed their sound!

But one thing is for sure, Wolfmother are back with a vengeance and ready to tear up on Friday. I’ll definitely be front and centre getting my rock on with other fans…that’s if I’m not at home playing Guitar Hero of course.
